On the Wrong Side in the Dark – Miriam C. Jacobs

Miriam C. Jacobs

On the wrong side in the dark
speaking backward, our bodies strange
twin funerals under chrome windows,
our elbows uneasy openings into the incongruous,
we ball these tender radio horrors
with our tongues, tragedies we find, hold close –
beauty that finds us – slatted, pillowed,
safe in your promise never to find me.
